Dear Competitors,
We are excited to welcome you to the 2026 ILCA Under-21 European Championships in Bodrum, Türkiye!
Below is key information to help your entry and equipment logistics go smoothly.
1. Visa & Entry Requirements
If you hold a valid visa, you do not need a residence permit for stays of up to 90 days.
Citizens of some European countries may enter Türkiye using only their national ID (no passport required). Check if your country is eligible.
For full visa details, see the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa information page.
2. Invitation Letters
If you need an official invitation letter (including your passport information and vehicle plate numbers, e.g. for visa applications), email regatta@tyf.org.tr and the organizing team will issue one for you.
3. Customs Procedures — ATA Carnet Required
Important: Türkiye is not part of the EU Customs Union / Schengen area, so all equipment crossing the border must go through formal customs procedures.
Any team bringing boats, coach RIBs, or other sailing equipment must obtain an ATA Carnet before departing for Türkiye. This applies to all equipment, whether arriving by land or by sea.
Apply for the ATA Carnet through your local Chamber of Commerce — start this process well in advance of your travel dates.
Once your Carnet is ready, contact a customs broker to assist with clearance at the Turkish border. We recommend:
